Overview

The Hydrocan branding project set out to create a modern, Japanese-inspired identity for a premium water brand in the UAE. The challenge was to stand out in a crowded beverage market while staying true to Hydrocan’s values of sustainability, purity, and mindful wellness. The final design combined bold, minimal visuals with a clean recyclable can, making Hydrocan feel less like just another water brand and more like a fresh lifestyle choice for people who care about good design and the planet.

History

Back when I was working at Digital Marketing Squad (DMS), our boss walked into the office with a challenge that changed everything. He told the design team: “Create a brand for Hydrocan. Whoever wins will take home the prize.”

The brief was bold, the pressure was real, and every designer in the room wanted that recognition. I poured my energy into the project, shaping Hydrocan into more than just another water brand. It became a vision of purity, sustainability, and Japanese-inspired wellness.

When the day came, my design stood out. I won first prize. The moment was bigger than the award, it was the recognition. I was personally acknowledged by the founders and directors: Aws Ismail, Zaid Alhiali, and Saif Shariefi.

That day, Hydrocan became a turning point in my journey as a designer. It wasn’t just a project, it was proof that creativity, when given the right challenge, can rise above and make history.

Mission

The mission was to design a brand that feels pure, modern, and inspired by Japanese wellness. Every detail of the packaging was created to reflect sustainability and mindful living, turning Hydrocan into more than just water, it’s a lifestyle choice for people who value health and balance.

Impact

Through this project, I transformed Hydrocan from just an idea into a recognizable premium water brand with a clear identity. By combining bold design with a story rooted in Japanese wellness, I helped create packaging that stood out in the UAE market while staying true to sustainability. The branding not only earned first place in an internal competition but also gained recognition from company directors and founders, proving the value of design in shaping a brand’s future.
